The Mighty Celt

Young Donal (Tyrone Mckenna) lives with his single mother in Belfast, and works after school at a greyhound trainer's to help make ends meet. The trainer (played by Ken Stott) agrees to let Donal keep one of the dogs if he can train him to win three successive races. At the same time, a mysterious figure from his mother's past known only as 'O' has returned and forms a relationship with young Donal. As the boy finds out more about O and the nature of the traitorous dog trainer, the young boy learns some harsh lessons about life. This wonderful Irish drama stars Gillian Anderson and Robert Carlyle.
