Leaving her gambling debts behind in Montreal, Michele (Sylvie Moreau) arrives in California with her rebellious teenage daughter in tow. Staying with a childhood friend, who is also raising a teen girl, Michele finds her problems far from over when her rebellious child proves a bad influence on her friend's daughter, leading to mother-daughter battles across the board.
