Tween ennui is the focal point of this Canadian film about loneliness and connection. With his parents consumed by their hotel business, 12-year-old Daniel spends most of his time trying to avoid his mundane responsibilities. Sneaking off to the pool one day, he is surprised to find a girl his age floating in the water. She too has a remote relationship with her parents who are going through a bitter divorce. This sweet, subtle and perceptive film about the isolation of two adolescents was written and directed by Simon Reynolds and Ingrid Veninger who also co-star as Daniel's parents.
