Killer of Sheep (1977) / My Brother's Wedding

Acclaimed African-American filmmaker Charles Burnett's work is spotlighted in this two-disc double bill. The documentary-like drama 'Killer of Sheep' follows a black family living in South Central L.A., with slaughterhouse labourer Stan struggling to make a better life for himself and his family. Next, an aimless young man working in the family dry cleaning business is asked by his lawyer sibling to serve as best man in 'My Brother's Wedding', shown in both its original version and the 2007 director's cut.
