A period shocker based on the work of Encho Sanyutei, a 19th-century writer. 250 years ago, Soetsu is a moneylender who is struck down by a samurai unable to pay his debts. From his dying breath he issues a curse that touches all of the samurai's family. 20 years later, the son of the samurai, Shinkichi, meets a beautiful woman, Toyoshiga, who happens to be the daughter of the deceased moneylender. It is through this twist of fate the curse weaves its way into his life. Will he be able to escape the growing number of ghosts that haunt him; and can he survive the curse that wants to drag him to the Kasane-ga-fuchi lake where it is rumoured those that sink below its waters are to never return?
