Dark Water

Yoshimi Matsubara (Hitomi Kuroki) is about to reach a divorce agreement with her husband concerning the custody of their daughter Ikuko. In order to start a brand new life with her daughter, she moves into a spacious apartment which has a mysterious water stain on the ceiling. Before long, the leak in the ceiling starts getting larger by the day, strange footsteps are heard from somewhere above, a mysterious bright red school bag keeps reappearing, and worst of all, her daughter starts acting very strange. Soon, Yoshimi finds out about the disappearance of a young girl who used to live a floor above her place, and what about the water tank on the roof, should that be looked into also? Following the ground-breaking success of the legendary horror film "Ring" and its sequel, director Hideo Nakata presents another chilling tale of dread and suspense written by Koji Suzuki, best known as "the Stephen King of Japan." Remade in 2005 with Jennifer Connelly and directed by Walter Salles ("The Motorcycle Diaries").
