Making a desperate, split-second decision, railroad engineer Tom Stark (Kevin Bacon) allows his train to crash into a car parked on the tracks. The young boy (Miles Heizer) whose mother was killed in the accident soon develops an unusual bond with Tom, who also struggles to be emotionally available to his cancer-stricken wife (Marcia Gay Harden). Alison Eastwood (daughter of Clint) directs; Bonnie Root, Eugene Byrd co-star.
