Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone
The Angels have descended. These colossal extraterrestrial monsters besiege the fortress-city of Tokyo-3 and our last line of defence is the Evangelion battle machine and its teenage pilot. The first of four films to be released in the 'Rebuild of Evangelion' tetralogy based on the original anime series 'Neon Genesis Evangelion'. This takes in the first six episodes of the classic series, some of it drawn storyboard for storyboard, other parts reinterpreted and changed by its creator, Hideaki Anno. Nominated for Animation of the Year at the 2008 Awards of the Japan Academy.
