Freedom
The first film from Australian director Scott Hicks ('Shine') is the tale of a no-hoper with a big dream - driving down the road in a Porsche, with a pretty girl in the passenger seat. With no obvious means of achieving this goal, Ron takes a shortcut and steals the car of his dreams. While on his joy ride, he meets the errant Sally, on her way to retrieve her baby from a pair of foster parents, and together the doomed pair set off on a road trip to nowhere.
