Filmmaker Tony Palmer surveys ragtime, blues, jazz, musical theater, folk, swing, country, rock, and more, interviewing major industry figures such as The Beatles, Elvis Presley, Benny Goodman, Stephen Sondheim, Mick Jagger, Phil Spector, Frank Zappa, and others. All 17 episodes of the series - including the "Introductory Programme," "God's Children," "Rude Songs," "Making Moonshine," "Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' Roll," and "Imagine" - are presented in this five-disc set.
