Blame It on Fidel!

It's 1970 in Paris, Charles de Gaulle is dead, the socialist Salvador Allende has come to power in Chile, and French women are demanding their rights. 9-year-old Anna comes from a privileged household, she's sharp as a tack and doing well in Catholic school thank you very much, when her well-to-do professional parents become suddenly politicised and turn her once-stable world upside down. Based on the novel by Domitilla Calamai, the debut film from Julie Gavras (daughter of Costa) is a charming and smartly funny coming-of-age tale, and was nominated for the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
