Buster Keaton's acting trademark was physical comedy with a stoic, deadpan expression on his face, earning him the nickname "The Great Stoneface". His early film work, from the 1920's, were a series of 'shorts' produced just after his introduction to film courtesy of that other comedy heavyweight, Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle.
