Famed documentarian Robert Youngson presents a pair of documentaries that celebrate the era of silent slapstick comedy. First, "The Golden Age of Comedy" (1957) compiles the zaniest moments of Jean Harlow, Ben Turpin, Laurel and Hardy, and the Keystone Cops. Then, in "When Comedy Was King" (1959), you'll see footage from such classic laughfests as "Kid Auto Races at Venice" (featuring Charlie Chaplin), "Fatty and Mabel Adrift" (with Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle), "Teddy at the Throttle" (starring Gloria Swanson), and more.
