And When Did You Last See Your Father?

Colin Firth and Jim Broadbent star in this adaptation of poet Blake Morrison's best-selling memoir that explores the complex relationship between father and son. As a child, Blake watched his father with a mixture of awe and embarrassment as he wheedled his way into high society and carried on a public extramarital affair; by adolescence his feelings had hardened into resentment, but after finally achieving his own success and independence he discovers his father has terminal cancer. As the childhood memories come flooding back, they are coloured by Blake's need to provide loving care for a sick old man. A moving and deeply insightful drama with two leading men at the top of their game.
