Sparkle
An appealing British comedy with a fun concept, a witty script and an uplifting ending, from the writers of 'Lawless Heart'. Sam is a Northerner who dreams of moving to London and making it big...doing something. Enter Bob Hoskins with a flat in the Big Smoke going spare and a crush on Sam's mum. Soon Sam is working the circuit, falling in with the glamourous yet tough PR guru, Stockard Channing, who promptly hires him and takes him for her lover - not necessarily in that order. The plan is going along just fine until Sam meets the sweetly unassuming, and completely uninfluential, Kate.
