Just on the cusp of puberty, Chen is also caught between two cultures. Equally attuned to his beautiful Russian mother's love of culture and the arts, and his Israeli father's gruff impatience with all things unmanly and impractical, Chen's destiny takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Natalie, a cool young Russian dancer to whom he is immediately drawn. He immediately abandons his judo class for dance lessons - a move that will go down like a lead balloon with his father. Set against a backdrop of ethnic conflict that mirrors the boy's own divided heritage, this is a charming tale of chivalry, bigotry and the healing power of dance.
