Two short films taken from excerpts of Alan Moore's 'Watchmen' that didn't make it into the motion picture. Narrated by Gerard Butler, 'Tales of the Black Freighter' is the animated story of a lone mariner, desperate to get home and warn his family of the impending arrival of a phantom pirate ship that houses the souls of the damned. Within the graphic novel the story serves as a counterpoint to the events happening in the 'Watchmen' world. While the live-action 'Under the Hood' is Nite Owl's powerful first-hand account of how the hooded adventurers came into existence. Undoubtedly essential viewing for fans.
