Ministry of Fear

A dense, yet quirky espionage thriller with Ray Milland as a recently released patient from a mental asylum who unwittingly gets caught up in Nazi spy games and finds himself going from one bad predicament to the next. Set in a war-torn London thick with secret bookstores, back rooms and seances, this stylish noir is based on the novel by Graham Greene, and directed with a suitably doom-laden atmosphere by German auteur, Fritz Lang. Marjorie Reynolds co-stars in this under-rated gem.
