Mike Figgis pushes the boundaries of cinema with this experimental digital feature about a chance encounter in Turkey. Originally approached to make a documentary about the Gumball 3000 car rally, Figgis opted instead to make this film set on the periphery of the race with an arrogant driver who meets a mysterious beautiful woman with (he soon realises) serious psychological problems. A one-page treatment laid the groundwork for an improvised script from actors who were cast just two days before filming began in Istanbul. The entire shoot lasted just seven days and combines footage of the actual race and its local impact, with Figgis's sort-of love story. The title is a skew on Sandie Shaw's hit song, 'Long Live Love'.
