In 1910 Aurea and her mother arrive in the Brazilian town of Maranhao where her husband believes he'll find prosperity in the barren desert. As the family struggles to survive, Aurea tries to figure out how to return to her former home, but as time passes she meets people who will lead her to a new destiny. Compelling drama stars Fernanda Montenegro, Fernanda Torres, Ruy Guerra and Seu Jorge.
