I Know You Know

Jamie is being raised by his unpredictable dad, Charlie (Robert Carlyle), in a rundown 1980s Welsh neighbourhood. He adores his father, and, closely observing his behaviour, begins to believe he is a secret agent for the British government. Obviously a deeply personal project for director Justin Kerrigan, making just his second film after 1999's 'Human Traffic', newcomer Arron Fuller is achingly real as the child who has to come to terms with a parent who is not all they seem; and Carlyle is characteristically charming and believable as the dad who didn't grow up. Engrossing coming-of-age drama with a twist.
