Lasse (Michael Nyqvist) is a contented man with a loving wife and two healthy children, until a tragic car accident claims the lives of his spouse and youngest son. The deaths take a terrible toll, and while his teenage son, Jonas, tries to help him get through the days, much of the time Lasse prefers to stay in bed; and eventually he becomes suicidal. However, the threat of losing custody of his only remaining child motivates Lasse to give life one more try. They head to the family's holiday home and as Lasse finds some comfort with his understanding neighbours, Jonas begins a sweet summer romance. A moving and richly textured film about loss and recovery from first-time Swedish director/writer Johan Brisinger.
