The Sniper
Testosterone-soaked thriller from Hong Kong's Dante Lam, starring Edison Chen as a hot-headed cop recruited for an elite sniper team who find themselves up against an old boss who's gone over to the dark side. Slick, bullet-ridden film saw a long delay in release following a notorious celebrity sex scandal involving Chen, several other well-known Hong Kong personalities, and explicit nude cellphone pics. Chen announced his imminent departure from the entertainment industry soon after, though his name was ranked as the number one search on Google China; number three in Taiwan; and in Hong Kong he just narrowly lost out on becoming Hong Kong Person of 2008, to President Barack Obama.
