The Royal Shakespeare Company's adaptation of the famous tale of jealously and betrayal, filmed in high definition as it was performed live in 2007. King Lear, old and tired, divides his kingdom amongst his three daughters, deciding their share by their protestations of love for him which results in a tragic and deadly family split. This lavish interpretation features Ian McKellen, Frances Barber and Jonathan Hyde and is directed by Trevor Nunn.
