King Lear, old and tired, divides his kingdom amongst his three daughters, deciding their share by their protestations of love for him which results in a tragic and deadly family split. This lavish interpretation features Ian McKellen, Frances Barber and Jonathan Hyde and is directed by Trevor Nunn.
