A satirical swipe at Tinseltown with Robert De Niro as Ben, a struggling movie producer who has just gone through his second divorce, and feels his soul is being ground up by the Hollywood machine. Real-life producer Art Linson wrote the screenplay based on his own best-selling memoir; Barry Levinson directs, and the brilliant ensemble cast includes Sean Penn, playing himself, Catherine Keener as a tough studio chief, Robin Wright Penn as Ben's ex, Bruce Willis also plays himself, and won't shave off his scraggly beard, John Turturro is an agent who's scared of his clients, and Stanley Tucci is Ben's screenwriter buddy who's making a play for his ex-wife.
