Wag the Dog

After a presidential scandal erupts two weeks before election day, Robert De Niro is the spin doctor called to the White House to deflect press attention from the goings-on. He in turn recruits a hotshot Hollywood producer (Dustin Hoffman) to stage a non-existent war to distract the public. David Mamet wrote the pungent screenplay based on Larry Beinhart's book.
