The Secret
Hannah (Lili Taylor) and Bill (David Duchovny) are married soul-mates with a teenage daughter, Sam (Olivia Thirlby); but when Hannah is killed in an automobile accident that also nearly claims the life of Sam, the mother's soul is propelled into her daughter's body. Hannah and a confused BIll are able to continue, in some way, their close bond, but Hannah also discovers some dark secrets about her daughter that neither she nor Bill suspected. This Freudian ghost story takes the concept of body-swapping seriously, rather than going down the 'Freaky Friday' route and is based on a Japanese film, 'Himitsu', which was in turn based on a novel by Keigo Higashino.
