Battle in Seattle

Events at the infamous 1999 World Trade Organisation meetings in Seattle are told through fictional characters in this wrenching ensemble drama that attempts to tell the story from both sides. Mixing actual footage and multiple storylines, director Stuart Townsend's ambitious effort addresses matters of both global importance and personal resonance. A fine cast includes Kiwi Martin Henderson, Andre Benjamin and Michelle Rodriguez as activists; Woody Harrelson and Charlize Theron as a riot cop and his pregnant wife; Connie Nielsen as a reporter; and Ray Liotta as Seattle's mayor. Also in the mix are Joshua Jackson, Channing Tatum and Rade Serbedzija.
