The beautiful Romy Schneider, while still in her teens, leads in a star making performance as the beloved Austrian Empress Elisabeth, "Sissi". This 1962 epic is a condensed version of the original German language 3 part "Sissi" series, edited and presented for English language audiences. It chronicles the courtship of Sissi by the future Emperor Franz Josef I (Karl Boehm), their wedding and his coronation. We share with Sissi her first year at court in Vienna, the birth of her first child as Austria and then all Europe falls under her spell.
