Adam Sandler is George Simmons, a narcissistic comedy superstar who finds out he has a rare blood disorder that will likely kill him within a year. Unlikely fodder for a comedy, but wirter/director Judd Apatow ('40-Year-Old Virgin', 'Knocked Up') was never one to shy away from uncomfortable subject matter. Compelled to get back out on the stand-up circuit, George meets young up-and-comer Ira Wright (Seth Rogen) and takes him under his wing. Apatow keeps it in the family with his real-life wife (Leslie Mann) and children also appearing in the film; along with Eric Bana, Jason Schwartzman, RZA and Jonah Hill. 'Terms of Endearment' meets, well, Judd Apatow.
