'Sherlock Holmes in Washington' (1942) - When a British secret agent carrying vital documents is kidnapped on his way to Washington, the ministry calls upon Sherlock Holmes (Basil Rathbone) to retrieve the documents and uncover the Nazi spies. Holmes discovers that the agent made microfilms of the documents and hid them in a matchbook. After the Nazi thugs kidnap the beautiful Nancy Partridge (Marjorie Lord) - who, unbeknownst to her, has the matchbook - Holmes must use his powers of deduction to track the gang down and save both Partridge and the critical microfilm. 'Sherlock Holmes Faces Death' (1943) - During volunteer work at Musgrave Manor, a convalescent home for retired officers, Doctor Watson's (Nigel Bruce) young assistant is attacked. Watson heads for London to seek Holmes' assistance, but too late: upon their return, they find the head of the household dead! Suspects abound: there's an American airman, Vickery (Milburn Stone), who is in love with Musgrave's younger sister Sally (Hillary Brooke); a drunken, eavesdropping manservant: Brunton (Halliwell Hobbes); his secret wife: Mrs Howells (Minna Phillips); Musgrave's cocky younger brother: Philip (Gavin Muir); and several convalescing soldiers, all of whom act suspiciously. Can Sherlock Holmes sort the red herrings from the real culprit?
