Capricorn One ( Blu-ray )

What if one of the greatest space adventures was really a hoax? The first manned flight to Mars is about to take place, but moments before the launch the astronauts (James Brolin, Sam Waterston, OJ Simpson) are secretly taken from their capsule to an abandoned desert hangar where they are informed that the life support systems have failed. The launch takes place as scheduled with the astronauts forced to take part in elaborately staged "mission" broadcasts, but when the return craft supposedly burns up on re-entry, the men suddenly find themselves expendable... Crackerjack suspense thriller from writer/director, and former news anchorman, Peter Hyams ("Outland") stars Elliott Gould as an investigative reporter who gets wind of the fact that something is amiss and slowly puts together the pieces of the mystery.
