During the summer, the beach resort of Haeundae is packed with up to one million vacationing Koreans. On one such day, marine geologist Kim Hwi (Joong-Hoon Park) detects the rumblings of a mega-tsunami to the shores of Korea. Racing to Busan to alert the authorities, he meets his ex-wife and the daughter he never knew he had. One of the most expensive and highest-grossing films in Korea, mixing the high octane thrills and special effects of the disaster genre.
