Brink of Life

Three seemingly different women meet in a Stockholm maternity ward in this award-winning drama from Ingmar Bergman ("Persona"), which compares and contrasts the characters' experiences with motherhood. The healthy and happy Eva Dahlbeck is enthusiastic about her baby - until the labour begins; while Ingrid Thulin must suffer through a miscarriage and a loveless marriage; meantime teen runaway Bibi Andersson fears her existence is too uncertain for a child to inhabit.
