The Box

In 1976, a cash-strapped suburban couple (Cameron Diaz and James Marsden) receive a gift of a simple wooden box with a single button on it. A mysterious stranger (Frank Langella) informs them that pushing it will earn them $1 million - but someone they don't know will die. With just 24 hours to have the box in their possession, Diaz, unable to resist, pushes the button, placing herself, Marsden, and their young son at the centre of a bizarre supernatural conspiracy in this gripping sci-fi mystery thriller. Director Richard Kelly ("Donnie Darko") adapted Richard Matheson's short story, "Button, Button", previously filmed as an episode of the 1980s television series "The Twilight Zone".
