Set amoungst the harsh beauty of the Canadian landscape, this northern stars Alan Ladd ('Shane') as tight-lipped Canadian Mountie Thomas O'Roarke. Returning home from an expedition O'Roarke happens upon Grace Markey (Shelley Winters), the sole survivor of a vicious Indian attack. The stage is set for a confrontation between the Mounties and the Indians but something is not right. Only O'Roarke knows the truth and must mutiny in order to save his men and the woman he has come to love!
