Fiction and reality collide in and out of the ring in this acclaimed documentary look at the life of pro grappler Bret "Hitman" Hart, a member of Canada's wresting Hart family. Bret's final year with the World Wrestling Federation as world champion is chronicled, from his wooing by Ted Turner's rival WCW group to the growing feud with WWF head Vince McMahon that led to his controversial final match at the 1997 Survivor Series in Montreal and its aftermath. Also includes the bonus feature "The Life and Death of Owen Heart" (1999).
