McHale's Navy Joins the Air Force

The further adventures of WWII's most unlikely patrol boat, this time without Ernest Borgnine, who declined to do the role he had played on TV and in the first McHale's Navy film after a salary dispute with Universal. Tim Conway ends up in charge of the ship and inadvertently gets promoted time after time, thanks to some strange mishaps. After a drunken bout, he ends up in an Air Force uniform, gets involved with some Russians, and eventually is honoured for bravery by no less than the president of the US. Somewhat funnier than the first film, with a similar reliance on slapstick gags that are well visualized by director Montagne.
