Acclaimed director Michael Winterbottom assembles a powerhouse cast in this haunting, suspenseful drama. After the sudden death of his wife (Hope Davis), university professor Joe (Colin Firth) is offered a position in Italy by Barbara (Catherine Keener), an old colleague. Packing up his daughters, teenager Kelly (Willa Holland) and her younger sister Mary (Perla Haney-Jardine), the family look to the sun-soaked city of Genova to start again. As Kelly experiments with boys and drugs, Mary blames herself for the for their mother's accident, and Joe finds himself embarking on a new romance, but danger lurks around every picturesque corner...
