Murders in the Rue Morgue

Jason Robards takes a rare horror role in this, Edgar Allan Poe's classic tale of mutant creatures and murderous intentions. Robards stars as Cesar Charron, owner of a Parisian theatre whose beautiful star (Christine Kaufmann) has recurring nightmares about a crazed axe-man and an heroic half-man/half-ape. Things become all too real when one of the theatre's performers is found murdered, and no-one knows who will survive the gory conclusion! Co-stars Herbert Lom (famous for his part as the long-suffering boss of Peter Sellers in the 'Pink Panther' films) and Lilli Palmer.
