The Lancaster at War

The Avro Lancaster is widely regarded as the finest British heavy bomber of the Second World War. Using the best wartime film and air-to-air footage of PA 474, one of the only two airworthy Lancasters still flying, "The Lancaster at War" provides a compelling, close-up look at a truly classic RAF combat aircraft. Veteran Lancaster air crew share their vivid memories of night raids over Germany and aerial combat with Luftwaffe interceptors. Each contributor offers detailed insight into what it was like to fly, night after night, on some of the most dangerous missions of the entire war. Dramatic footage from both night and daylight raids includes rare colour film.
