Black Swan
Director Darren Aronofsky probes the world of ballet with this dark tale. Natalie Portman, in an Oscar-winning performance, strives to become the lead in her dance company's upcoming production of "Swan Lake," but her director questions her ability to portray the black swan. As the prim and proper Portman prepares to perfect the role, she begins to lose her sanity, catalyzed by her overbearing mother (Barbara Hershey) and a sultry new dancer (Mila Kunis). Winona Ryder co-stars.
