This classic Miyazaki film in many ways foreshadows his later, more widely recognised hit, 'Princess Mononoke'. In the far future, man has destroyed the Earth in the 'Seven Days of Fire'. Now, there are small pockets of humanity that survive. One pocket is the Valley of the Wind, where Princess Nausicaa lives. A Toxic Jungle surrounds her valley, expelling deadly poisonous gas and guarded by giant insects. Although ocean breezes protect the valley from these poisons, a battle for earthly domination threatens this stability. Nausicaa embarks on a dangerous journey to negotiate with the Toxic Jungle and its insects, a mission to stop mass destruction and ensure the long-term survival of her and her people.
