Cheerful Weather for the Wedding

Felicity Jones stars in this 1930s-set comedy drama as a vacillating bride-to-be, unable to make her mind up between her dull but worthy future husband and the handsome, charming boy who had previously swept her off her feet. As the guests begin arriving at the English country house where she is to be wed, Dolly (Jones) hides out in an upstairs room, mulling over the day ahead with the help of a bottle of rum. While her agitated mother, Hetty (Elizabeth McGovern), tries to hide her panic and reassure her relatives that all is well, the arrival on the scene of Dolly's former flame, Joseph (Luke Treadaway), threatens to upset the well-laid plans. With lavish costumes and beautiful English countryside, "Cheerful Weather for the Wedding" is a joy from start to finish in the grand tradition of English period comedy-dramas.
