Sense and Sensibility

When the death of their father results in the sudden loss of their family fortune, two newly impoverished sisters find that their loss of status comes between them and the men they love. Star Emma Thompson collected an Oscar for her screenplay adaptation of Jane Austen's first published novel. Also stars Alan Rickman, Kate Winslet, Hugh Grant; directed by Ang Lee ("The Ice Storm", "Brokeback Mountain").
