Dangerous Liaisons
1930s Shanghai: the glamorous, tumultuous "Paris of the East" whose salons, streets and bedrooms frame this Chinese adaptation of the French novel "Les Liaisons Dangereuses" into a lush new vision where a calculating older woman (Cecilia Cheung) wagers her womanizing ex-lover (Dong-gun Jang) that he will be unable to seduce and then abandon a young lady (Zhang Ziyi) known for her purity and charitable nature. Their salacious bet takes shocking turns in this steamy Chinese romance co-starring Shawn Dou and Lisa Lu.
