Destiny of a Man ( Fate of a Man )

The story of a man (Andrey Sokolov) whose life was ruthlessly crippled by World War II. Sergei Bondarchuk directs and acts in this screen adaptation of Nobel Prize winning author Mikhail Sholokhov's novel. Beautifully crafted and acted, this film is essentially a morality tale that convinced western audiences that Soviet directors could indeed break from their propaganda yokes.
