A Woman Called Golda

Originally conceived as a mini-series, this film is the story of the Russian-born, Wisconsin-raised woman who rose to become Israel's prime minister in the late 1960s and early 1970s. At a time when American Jews prefer to "blend-in" and avoid the J word in public; Golda is driven to go to Palestine and build a new homeland. Her talents and intelligence will catapult her to the center of the world stage from the rebirth of a small and poor country in a very rough part of the globe. This was Ingrid Bergman's last film.
