James Stewart is a banker living in the typical American small town of Bedford Falls who is driven by circumstances one Christmas Eve to consider suicide, only to be shown by bumbling angel Henry Travers what a difference his life has made. Terrific cast includes Donna Reed, Thomas Mitchell, Lionel Barrymore and Ward Bond. A flop in its day, it is now regarded as a holiday classic.
