This biography of painter Francis Bacon focuses on his relationship with his lover, George Dyer (Daniel Craig), a former small time crook. Amazingly rich in character and visuals and just like Bacon's paintings, it's abstract, provocative, dark and cruel, yet intensely mesmerising. Derek Jacobi is stunning as the very disturbed artist. Music by Ryuichi Sakamoto.
